Birdwatching in Andaman
Andaman Birding Tours offer one of the top 10 birdwatching experiences in India. The Andaman Islands, because of their 10 millennia-long isolation from present-day Myanmar, have become home to a remarkable array of avian species that evolved from their Southeast Asian counterparts. This unique biodiversity of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands makes it a haven for bird enthusiasts. Birding in Andaman allows birdwatchers to witness closer to 30 endemic birds and over 100 subspecies endemics, which might split in the future. Most resident birds have a stronger affinity for Southeast Asia than that of the Indian Subcontinent.

We did the one-day tour with Tribesmen, and it was a great experience! Our guide, Franklin, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information about the birds and their habitat. My boyfriend and I both learned a lot during the tour, which made it even more enjoyable. Franklin was patient and made sure we spotted a great variety of birds. Overall, a well-organized and interesting tour – definitely recommended! dilip verma2025-02-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent birdwatching trips, we did the evening for owls, saw 4 different species, and the next morning saw over 25 different species. Our guide Prodip was very knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend Tribesmen and Prodip Sheila Mathai2025-02-08Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Birding with Tribesman in the Andamans was a superb experience which exceeded my expectations. I was there from 30 Jan 25 to 4 Feb25 and we were fortunate to have Shakt Vel as our guide all through for about 12 sessions, including night birding. I particularly liked the professionalism with which the sessions were conducted- starting on time, good vehicles with excellent drivers( who themselves are quite accomplished spotters!) and accomplishing targets. We saw all the endemics, 95% of the resident birds and a good number of migratory birds- 130 species with over 50 lifers (for me)! I particularly want to thank Shakti for the tips on night photography and adjustments for light etc which he so generously gave during the trips, along with spotting the most amazing birds. A lifetime experience- shouldn’t miss it! Deborah Bonsack2025-02-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Maybe it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Shakti’s name came so highly recommended to me as “the guy” for birding as a guide in the Andaman Islands, from a hard core international birding company. Let’s just say I was not disappointed! Gentleman, nice person , and a very skilled birder, who knows the islands intimately. I won’t tell you just how fast we cleaned up on all of the endemics, even the tougher ones, along with most of the endemic subspecies. If I did it would create unrealistic expectations. But suffice it to say that we had enough time to spare in my allotted time to twitch the “Andaman” Bush Warbler, what an adventure! Great memories, can’t speak highly enough about my time spent with him in his corner of the world!Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 142 reviews
