Our team

Our leaders are all born and brought up in the islands and lead both our scheduled and custom trips. On top of the broad range of scheduled tours offered, we offer a range of custom tours. Using in-house expertise, we can tailor the custom tours to suit your requirements.

Shakti grew up watching wildlife documentaries and had a profound interest in reef fish and sharks. He pursued marine biology and worked as a researcher for the Zoological Survey of India and the Bombay Natural History Society before starting “Tribesmen.in” in 2018. His work took him to the remote islands of the Andaman, Nicobar & Lakshadweep archipelago, scuba diving off the shore and watching birds on land. He even worked for months in the Nicobar Islands. Has built an intimate understanding of the identification, vocalizations, and behaviour of every bird on the island. Also credited for the re-discovery of Pale-footed Bush Warbler (Andaman subspecies).

Shakti is an accomplished photographer who frequently assists with camera settings. Is a meticulous planner. Also fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Bengali. has traveled across the country and seen over 900 Indian birds, published numerous research articles, is one of Bird Count India’s regional coordinators, and has extensive knowledge of the island’s ecosystem and history. Making him one of the most popular and sought-after naturalists in the islands.

The first female birding guide of the islands. Jabili is from South Andaman itself. She knows her birds and how to find them at a more relaxed pace. credited for the 1st record of Banded Crake & Ortulan Bunting and is our lead naturalist for our partner agencies like Asian Adventures, Saiyu Japan, and Rockjumper Birding.

Hailing from the North Andaman, Prodip grew up close to nature and has very sharp eyes and ears to spot the birds. He also has an interest in herping and often manages to include a few of the endemic reptiles in the tour he leads and looks after the logistical requirements for all of our birding trips.

Franklin, lives in Shoal Bay, which is considered to be the best birding hotspot in the islands, and we are tired & jealous of hearing stories of endemic birds showing up in his backyard. He has a doctorate in pharmacy and also runs a pet grooming business when he is not leading birders in the jungle.
